This gooey smooth berry spread can be made with just about any berries you like, the trick is to add a little sweetener of your choice and then add a splash of arrowroot, corn or other starch to thicken things up. It’s perfect for spreading on cakes, cupcakes or toast.
Berry Spread {coconut sugar sweetened}

Ingredients
- 1 cup Raspberry or Strawberries or 1/2 cup each
- 2/3 cup Coconut Sugar
- 1 tsp. water
- 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. Agave or Maple Syrup
- 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp. Arrow Root Starch or Tapioca Starch
Instructions
- Add all ingredients in small pot and simmer on medium-low heat
- As berries soften, crush with potato masher or fork
- Let cook on medium to low heat until mixture reduces and berries are well cooked
- Dissolve Starch in small amount of water and add to pot slowly while turning until mixture starts to thicken up.
- Remove from heat and let cool
